2."Bhante nāgasena, 'cakkavākassa tīṇi aṅgāni gahetabbānī'ti yaṃ vadesi, katamāni tāni tīṇi aṅgāni gahetabbānīti"?

‘Venerable Nāgasena, those three qualities of the cakravāka bird you say he ought to take, which are they?’
|
42. Почтенный Нагасена, ты сказал, что следует взять три качества казарки. Каковы эти три качества?

"Yathā, mahārāja, cakkavāko yāva jīvitapariyādānā dutiyikaṃ na vijahati, evameva kho, mahārāja, yoginā yogāvacarena yāva jīvitapariyādānā yoniso manasikāro na vijahitabbo.
|
‘Just, O king, as the cakravāka bird never forsakes his mate even to the close of his life; just so, O king, should the strenuous Bhikshu, never, even to the close of his life, give up the habit of thought.
|
– Во-первых, государь, казарка до конца своих дней не покидает своего супруга. Вот точно так же, государь, и занимающемуся йогой йогу не следует до конца своих дней оставлять подлинное внимание.

Idaṃ, mahārāja, cakkavākassa paṭhamaṃ aṅgaṃ gahetabbaṃ.
|
This, O king, is the first quality of the cakravāka bird he ought to have.
|
Это первое качество, государь, что следует взять у казарки.

"Puna caparaṃ, mahārāja, cakkavāko sevālapaṇakabhakkho, tena ca santuṭṭhiṃ āpajjati, tāya ca santuṭṭhiyā balena ca vaṇṇena ca na parihāyati, evameva kho, mahārāja, yoginā yogāvacarena yathālābhasantoso karaṇīyo, yathālābhasantuṭṭho kho, mahārāja, yogī yogāvacaro na parihāyati sīlena, na parihāyati samādhinā, na parihāyati paññāya, na parihāyati vimuttiyā, na parihāyati vimuttiñāṇadassanena, na parihāyati sabbehi kusalehi dhammehi.

‘And again, O king, as the cakravāka bird feeds on the Sevāla and Paṇaka (water-plants so called), and derives satisfaction therefrom, and being so satisfied, neither his strength nor his beauty grows less; just so, O king, should the strenuous Bhikshu, earnest in effort, find satisfaction in whatever he receives. And if he does so find satisfaction, O king, then does he decrease neither in power of meditation, nor in wisdom, nor in emancipation, nor in the insight that arises from the consciousness of emancipation, nor in any kind of goodness.

Далее, государь, казарка питается ряской и тиной884 и остается довольна и сохраняет свои силы и красоту. Вот точно так же, государь, и занимающемуся йогой йогу следует быть довольным тем, что ему достается. Если занимающийся йогой йог доволен тем, что ему достается, государь, то нравственность его не теряется, сосредоточение не теряется, мудрость не теряется, свобода не теряется, знание-видение свободы не теряется, никакие благие дхармы не теряются.

This, O king, is the second quality of the cakravāka bird he ought to have.
|
Это второе качество, государь, что следует взять у казарки.

"Puna caparaṃ, mahārāja, cakkavāko pāṇe na viheṭhayati, evameva kho, mahārāja, yoginā yogāvacarena nihitadaṇḍena nihitasatthena lajjinā dayāpannena sabbapāṇabhūtahitānukampinā bhavitabbaṃ.
|
‘And again, O king, as the cakravāka bird does no harm to living things; just so, O king, should the strenuous Bhikshu, earnest in effort, laying aside the cudgel, laying aside the sword, be full of modesty and pity, compassionate and kind to all creatures that have life.
|
Далее, государь, казарка не вредит живым существам. Вот точно так же, государь, и занимающемуся йогой йогу следует навсегда отложить палку, отложить меч, быть совестливым, исполненным участия, милосердия и желания блага всем живым существам.

|
This, O king, is the third quality of the cakravāka bird he ought to have.
|
Это третье качество, государь, что следует взять у казарки.
|

Bhāsatampetaṃ, mahārāja, bhagavatā devātidevena cakkavākajātake –
|
For it was said, O king, by the Blessed One, the god over all gods, in the cakravāka Jātaka:
|
Ведь есть, государь, в джатаке о казарке изречение Блаженного, бога богов:
|

"'Yo na hanti na ghāteti, na jināti na jāpaye;
|
“The man who kills not, nor destroys, Oppresses not, nor causes other men To take from men that which is rightly theirs —-
|
«Тот, кто не убивает и не зовет к убийству, Тот, кто не побеждает и не зовет к победе,
|
|
|
Mettaṃso [ahiṃsā (sī. pī.)] sabbabhūtesu, veraṃ tassa na kenacī"'ti.
|
And this from kindness to all things that live— No wrath with any man disturbs his peace.” ’
|
Исполнен неврежденья и всякой чужд вражде»885.
