2."Bhante nāgasena, 'padumassa tīṇi aṅgāni gahetabbānī'ti yaṃ vadesi, katamāni tāni tīṇi aṅgāni gahetabbānī"ti ?
|
“Revered Nāgasena, when you say three qualities of the lotus must be adopted, which are these three qualities that must be adopted?"
|
12. Почтенный Нагасена, ты сказал, что следует взять три качества лотоса. Каковы эти три качества?

"Yathā, mahārāja, padumaṃ udake jātaṃ udake saṃvaddhaṃ anupalittaṃ udakena, evameva kho, mahārāja, yoginā yogāvacarena kule gaṇe lābhe yase sakkāre sammānanāya paribhogapaccayesu ca sabbattha anupalittena bhavitabbaṃ.
|
“As, sire, the lotus, though born in the water and growing up in the water, is undefiled by the water,170 even so, sire, the one who is devoted to mental training in all circumstances should be undefiled by family, group, gains, honours, fame and veneration and the use of the requisites (of a bhikkhu’s life).
|
– Известно, государь, что лотос в воде рожден, в воде возрос, но водой не пятнаем. Вот точно так же, государь, следует, чтобы занимающегося йогой йога не пятнали его семья, окружение, прибыль, слава, почести, уважение и личные его вещи.

Idaṃ, mahārāja, padumassa paṭhamaṃ aṅgaṃ gahetabbaṃ.
|
This, sire, is the first quality of the lotus that must be adopted.
|
Это первое качество, государь, что следует взять у лотоса.
|
|
|
"Puna caparaṃ, mahārāja, padumaṃ udakā accuggamma ṭhāti.
|
“And again, sire, the lotus stands rising above the water;
|
Далее, государь, лотос вышел из воды и над нею возвышается.
|
|
|
Evameva kho, mahārāja, yoginā yogāvacarena sabbalokaṃ abhibhavitvā accuggamma lokuttaradhamme ṭhātabbaṃ.
|
even so, sire, the one who is devoted to mental training, having overcome and risen above all the world, must stand firm in the supramundane state.
|
Вот точно так же, государь, и занимающемуся йогой йогу следует превзойти весь мир, возвыситься над ним и укрепиться в сверхмирских дхармах.

Idaṃ, mahārāja, padumassa dutiyaṃ aṅgaṃ gahetabbaṃ.
|
This, sire, is the second quality of the lotus that must be adopted.
|
Это второе качество, государь, что следует взять у лотоса.
|
|
|
"Puna caparaṃ, mahārāja, padumaṃ appamattakenapi anilena eritaṃ calati.
|
“And again, sire, moved by even the slightest breeze, the lotus trembles;
|
Далее, государь, лотос покачивается даже от слабого ветерка.
|
|
|
Evameva kho, mahārāja, yoginā yogāvacarena appamattakesupi kilesesu saṃyamo karaṇīyo, bhayadassāvinā viharitabbaṃ.
|
even so, sire, the one who is devoted to mental training should exercise restraint among even the slightest defilements, he should abide seeing the peril (in them).
|
Вот точно так же, государь, и занимающемуся йогой йогу следует сдерживать даже слабые аффекты и усматривать опасность даже в них.

Idaṃ, mahārāja, padumassa tatiyaṃ aṅgaṃ gahetabbaṃ.
|
This, sire, is the third quality of the lotus that must be adopted.”
|
Это третье качество, государь, что следует взять у лотоса.
|

|
Bhāsitampetaṃ, mahārāja, bhagavatā devātidevena 'aṇumattesu vajjesu bhayadassāvī samādāya sikkhati sikkhāpadesū'ti.
|
|
Ведь есть, государь, изречение Блаженного, бога богов: «Кто в мельчайших провинностях опасность усматривает, тот на деле выучивается правилам поведения»852.
|
