6.Rājā āha "bhante nāgasena, yo ca mātari matāya rodati, yo ca dhammapemena rodati, ubhinnaṃ tesaṃ rodantānaṃ kassa assu bhesajjaṃ, kassa na bhesajja"nti?

The king said: ‘To which of these two, Nāgasena—the man who weeps at the death of his mother, and the man who weeps out of love for the Truth (Dhamma)—are his tears a cure?’
|
Царь молвил: «Почтенный Нагасена, если один по умершей матери плачет, а другой из любви к Учению плачет, то из этих двух плачущих чьи слезы целительны, чьи нецелительны?»

"Ekassa kho, mahārāja, assu rāgadosamohehi samalaṃ uṇhaṃ, ekassa pītisomanassena vimalaṃ sītalaṃ.
|
‘The tears of the one, O king, are stained and hot with the three fires of passion. The tears of the other are stainless and cool.
|
– У одного, государь, слезы жаркие, страстью, враждебностью, заблуждением загрязненные, у другого же – радостные, удовлетворенные, свежительные, незагрязненные;

Yaṃ kho, mahārāja, sītalaṃ, taṃ bhesajjaṃ, yaṃ uṇhaṃ, taṃ na bhesajja"nti.
|
Now there is cure in coolness and calm, but in heat and passion there can be no cure.’
|
что свежительно, то целительно, государь, что жарко, то нецелительно.
|

"Kallosi, bhante nāgasenā"ti.
|
‘Very good, Nāgasena!’
