66.Vuttañhetaṃ bhagavatā, vuttamarahatāti me sutaṃ –
|
§66. This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:
|
|
|
"Tīṇimāni, bhikkhave, soceyyāni.
|
“Monks, there are these three kinds of cleanliness.
|
|
|
Katamāni tīṇi?
|
Which three?
|
|
|
Kāyasoceyyaṃ, vacīsoceyyaṃ, manosoceyyaṃ – imāni kho, bhikkhave, tīṇi soceyyānī"ti.
|
Bodily cleanliness, verbal cleanliness, mental cleanliness. These are the three kinds of cleanliness.”
|
|
|
Etamatthaṃ bhagavā avoca.
|
[This is the meaning of what the Blessed One said.]
|
|
|
Tatthetaṃ iti vuccati –
|
[So with regard to this it was said:]
|
|
|
"Kāyasuciṃ vacīsuciṃ [vācāsuciṃ (ka.)], cetosucimanāsavaṃ;
|
Clean in body, clean in speech, clean in awareness –effluent-free–
|
|
|
Suciṃ soceyyasampannaṃ, āhu sabbappahāyina"nti [āhu ninhātapāpakanti (a. ni. 3.122) yuttataraṃ].
|
one who is clean, consummate in cleanliness, is said to have abandoned the All.
|
|
|
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
|
[This, too, was the meaning of what was said by the Blessed One, so I have heard.]
|
