32.Vuttañhetaṃ bhagavatā, vuttamarahatāti me sutaṃ –
|
§32. This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:
|

"Dvīhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato puggalo yathābhataṃ nikkhitto evaṃ niraye.
|
“Endowed with two things, monks, a person–as if carried off–is thus placed in hell.
|
|
|
Katamehi dvīhi?
|
Which two?
|
|
|
Pāpakena ca sīlena, pāpikāya ca diṭṭhiyā.
|
Evil habits & evil views.
|
|
|
Imehi kho, bhikkhave, dvīhi dhammehi samannāgato puggalo yathābhataṃ nikkhitto evaṃ niraye"ti.
|
Endowed with these two things, a person–as if carried off–is thus placed in hell.”
|
|
|
Etamatthaṃ bhagavā avoca.
|
[This is the meaning of what the Blessed One said.]
|
|
|
Tatthetaṃ iti vuccati –
|
[So with regard to this it was said:]
|
|
|
"Pāpakena ca sīlena, pāpikāya ca diṭṭhiyā;
|
Evil habits & evil views:1
|
|
|
Etehi dvīhi dhammehi, yo samannāgato naro;
|
a person, undiscerning, endowed with these two things,
|
|
|
Kāyassa bhedā duppañño, nirayaṃ sopapajjatī"ti.
|
at the break-up of the body reappears in hell.
|
|
|
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
|
[This, too, was the meaning of what was said by the Blessed One, so I have heard.]
