| Āgantukā bhikkhū ujjhāyanti khiyyanti vipācenti – "kathañhi nāma āvāsikā bhikkhū uposathāgāraṃ na sammajjissantī"ti. | Incoming monks criticized and complained and spread it about, “How can these monks not sweep the Uposatha hall?” | |
| Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ. | They reported the matter to the Blessed One. | |
| Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, uposathāgāraṃ sammajjitunti. | “Monks, I allow you to sweep the Uposatha hall.” | |
