| 147.Asammatāya, bhikkhave, sīmāya aṭṭhapitāya, yaṃ gāmaṃ vā nigamaṃ vā upanissāya viharati, yā tassa vā gāmassa gāmasīmā, nigamassa vā nigamasīmā, ayaṃ tattha samānasaṃvāsā ekuposathā. | “Monks, when a territory has not been authorized, not set aside, the village-territory or town-territory of the village or town on which one depends is (the territory for) common affiliation and a single Uposatha there. | |
| Agāmake ce, bhikkhave, araññe samantā sattabbhantarā, ayaṃ tattha samānasaṃvāsā ekuposathā. | “In a non-village, in a wilderness, seven abbhantaras1 all around is the (territory for) common affiliation and a single Uposatha there. |
