Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhuniyo attanā pavāretvā bhikkhusaṅghaṃ na pavārenti.

Now at that time nuns, having invited among themselves, did not invite in an Order of monks.
|

Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ.
|
They told this matter to the Lord.
|
|
|
"Na, bhikkhave, bhikkhuniyā attanā pavāretvā bhikkhusaṅgho na pavāretabbo.
|
He said: “Monks, nuns, having invited among themselves, should not not invite in an Order of monks.
|
|
|
Yā na pavāreyya, yathādhammo kāretabbo"ti.
|
Whoever should not (so) invite should be dealt with according to the rule. ”
|
|
