Tena kho pana samayena aññataro bhikkhu bālo hoti.

Now at that time a certain monk was ignorant;

В то время некий монах был невежественным.

Taṃ bhikkhuniyo upasaṅkamitvā etadavocuṃ – "ovādaṃ, ayya, gaṇhāhī"ti.
|
nuns, having approached him, spoke thus: “Master, undertake the exhortation.”

монахини подойдя к нему сказали: «Почтенный, возьмись нас поучать».
|

"Ahañhi, bhaginī, bālo; kathāhaṃ ovādaṃ gaṇhāmī"ti?
|
He said: “But I, sisters, am ignorant. How can I undertake the exhortation?”
|
Монах ответил: "Но, сестры, я невежественен. Как я могу взять на себя поучение?”.
|

|
"Gaṇhāhayya, ovādaṃ; evañhi bhagavatā paññattaṃ – bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ ovādo gahetabbo"ti.
|
“Master, undertake the exhortation, for it was thus laid down by the Lord: ‘The exhortation of nuns should be undertaken by monks’.”
|
«Почтенный, возьми на себя поучение, ибо Благословенным установлено: «Монахи должны браться за поучение монахинь.»
|

|
Bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ.
|
They told this matter to the Lord.
|
Об этом рассказали Благословенному

"Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, ṭhapetvā bālaṃ, avasesehi ovādaṃ gahetu"nti.
|
He said: “I allow you, monks, excepting an ignorant one, to undertake the exhortation through the others. ”
|
и тот молвил: “Монахи, я разрешаю браться поучать монахинь посредством других, за исключением невежественных.”
|
Интересно что здесь значит "других" - других монахов или других монахинь?
