"Yathā vā pana, mahārāja, eko puriso atthakaraṇiko ekako yeva sāmikaṃ upagantvā atthaṃ sādheti.

‘Or just, O king, as while one man who is clever in business will go alone to his lord and conclude any business he has to do,

Или представь, государь, что искусный в тяжбах человек в одиночку пришел к господину704 и выиграл тяжбу,

Eko dhanavā dhanavasena parisaṃ vaḍḍhetvā parisāya atthaṃ sādheti.
|
another man, rich though he may be, must by his riches bring others to his service, and by their help get the business done—
|
а другой, богатый, заручился с помощью своих денег поддержкой членов совета705 и благодаря членам совета выиграл тяжбу.

Yā tattha tassa parisapariyesanā, sā atthatthāya.
|
and it is for the business’ sake that he has to seek after them.
|
Поддержка членов совета ему нужна была только для того, чтобы выиграть тяжбу.

Evameva kho, mahārāja, ye te sabhāvaparisuddhā pubbe vāsitavāsanā, te ekacittakkhaṇena chasu abhiññāsu vasibhāvaṃ pāpuṇanti, puriso viya ekako atthasiddhiṃ karonto.
|
In the same way those who are by nature pure, upon whose hearts an impression has been left by good deeds done in a former birth, may reach, in a moment, to the attainment of the Six Transcendent Qualities, like the man who does the business alone by himself
|
Вот точно так же, государь, те, кто чист по своей природе, в ком есть благоприятные следы прошлых жизней, достигают мастерства в шести сверхзнаниях за один мыслительный миг, как тот человек, что выиграл тяжбу в одиночку.

Ye pana te bhikkhū mahārajakkhā, te imehi payogehi sāmaññatthamabhisādhenti, parisāya viya puriso atthasiddhiṃ karonto.
|
Whereas those brethren whose minds are darkened by the evil they have done can only by such means as these realise the gains of renunciation, like the man who through others’ help brings his business to the desired end.
