"Yathā vā pana, mahārāja, puriso mahatimahante ambarukkhamatthake phalapiṇḍi bhaveyya, atha tattha yo koci iddhimā āgantvā tassa phalaṃ hareyya, yo pana tattha aniddhimā, so kaṭṭhañca valliñca chinditvā nisseṇiṃ bandhitvā tāya taṃ rukkhaṃ abhiruhitvā phalaṃ hareyya.

‘Or just, O king, as there might be a bunch of fruits on the summit of a lofty mango tree. Then whoever possesses the power of Iddhi could take those fruits, but whoever had not, he would have first to cut sticks and creepers and construct a ladder, and by its means climb up the tree and so get at the fruit.

Или представь, государь, что на макушке высоченного мангового дерева висят плоды. Пришёл один человек, обладающий сверхобычными силами, просто взлетел по воздуху и сорвал плоды. Пришел другой, не обладающий сверхобычными силами; он нарубил палок и лиан, связал лестницу, забрался по ней на дерево и тоже сорвал плоды.

Yā tattha tassa nisseṇipariyesanā, sā phalatthāya.

Evameva kho, mahārāja, ye te sabhāvaparisuddhā pubbe vāsitavāsanā, te ekacittakkhaṇena nippapañcā honti, iddhimā viya rukkhaphalaṃ haranto.

In the same way those who are by nature pure, and upon whose hearts an impression has been left by good deeds done in a former birth, may attain, in a moment, to Arahatship, like the man getting the fruit by the power of Iddhi.

Вот точно так же, государь, те, кто чист по своей природе, в ком есть благоприятные следы прошлых жизней, достигают непространности за один мыслительный миг, как срывает плоды человек, обладающий сверхобычными силами.

Ye pana te bhikkhū mahārajakkhā, te iminā payogena saccāni abhisamenti, nisseṇiyā viya puriso rukkhaphalaṃ haranto.

But those, on the other hand, whose minds are darkened by the evil they have done can only become Arahats by such means as these, like the man who only gets the fruit by means of the ladder he has made.

Те же монахи, в чьих очах много пыли, достигают непространности с помощью этих средств, как срывает плоды человек, забравшийся по лестнице.

У АП ошибка. Выше nippapañcā honti = достигают непространности, но здесь saccāni abhisamenti, проникают в суть истин (реальностей)
