"Netaṃ, mahārāja, vacanaṃ bhagavatā arahante upādāya bhaṇitaṃ 'sabbe tasanti daṇḍassa, sabbe bhāyanti maccuno'ti. Ṭhapito arahā tasmiṃ vatthusmiṃ, samūhato bhayahetu arahato. All bourns have been cut off by the arahat, all modes of arising extinguished, rebirth destroyed, the snares abolished; delight in all becomings has been rooted out, all formations have been extirpated, the wholesome and the unwholesome have been ended, ignorance has been demolished, consciousness has been made seedless, all the defilements have been burnt up, and worldly things have been conquered by him. Therefore, an arahat does not tremble at any fear.

To the Arahat, O king, rebirth in every state has been cut off, all the four kinds of future existence have been destroyed, every re-incarnation has been put an end to, the rafters of the house of life have broken, and the whole house completely pulled down, the conditions have altogether lost their roots, good and evil have ceased, ignorance has been demolished, consciousness has no longer any seed (from which it could be renewed), all sin has been burnt away, and all worldly conditions have been overcome. Therefore is it that the Arahat is not made to tremble by any fear.’

Святой же вышел за пределы бытия, пресек для себя всякой будущей жизни возможность, отрезал пути к новому рождению, силки распутал; он вне всех областей существования, с благим и неблагим покончил, убил неведение; в сознании его нет больше ростков будущего; все аффекты он прокалил и все мирские дхармы превзошел, поэтому никакие страхи святого не страшат.
