229.Tena kho pana samayena kusinārā yāva sandhisamalasaṃkaṭīrā jaṇṇumattena odhinā mandāravapupphehi santhatā [saṇṭhitā (syā.)] hoti.

23. Thereupon the whole of Kusinara, even to the dust heaps and rubbish heaps, became covered knee-deep in mandarava flowers.

Now on that occasion Kusinārā—even to its rubbish heaps & cesspools—was strewn knee-deep in coral-tree flowers.

6.16.At that time even the sewers and rubbish-heaps of Kusinara were covered knee-high with coral-tree flowers.

В то время Кусинара, вплоть до соединений [домов], канализационных каналов и помойных куч была усыпана по колено цветами кораллового дерева (Мандарава).

6.16. И в это самое время Кусинара [вся, вплоть до] стоков для нечистот и груд мусора оказалась по колено устланной цветами мандаравы.

Atha kho devatā ca kosinārakā ca mallā bhagavato sarīraṃ dibbehi ca mānusakehi ca naccehi gītehi vāditehi mālehi gandhehi sakkarontā garuṃ karontā mānentā pūjentā uttarena uttaraṃ nagarassa haritvā uttarena dvārena nagaraṃ pavesetvā majjhena majjhaṃ nagarassa haritvā puratthimena dvārena nikkhamitvā puratthimato nagarassa makuṭabandhanaṃ nāma mallānaṃ cetiyaṃ ettha ca bhagavato sarīraṃ nikkhipiṃsu.

And homage was paid to the body of the Blessed One by the deities as well as the Mallas of Kusinara. With dance, song, music, flower-garlands, and perfume, both divine and human, respect, honor, and veneration were shown. And they carried the body of the Blessed One northward to the northern part of the town; and having carried it through the northern gate, they went through the center of the town, and then eastward to the east of the town; and having passed through the east gate, they carried the body of the Blessed One to the cetiya of the Mallas, Makuta-bandhana, and there laid it down.

So the devas & the Kusinārā Mallans, worshipping, honoring, respecting, & venerating the Blessed One’s body with heavenly & human dances, songs, music, garlands, & scents, carried it to the north of the town, entered the town through the north gate, carried it through the middle of the town and out the east gate to the Mallans’ shrine called Makuṭa-bandhana. There they set it down.

And the devas as well as the Mallas of Kusinara honoured the Lord's body with divine and human [161] dancing, song...; and they carried the body to the north of the city, brought it in through the north gate, through the middle of the city and out through the eastern gate to the Mallas' shrine of Makuta- Bandhana, where they set the body down.

И божества, а также кусинарские маллы выражая уважение, преклонение, почёт и почитание телу Благословенного человеческими и божественными танцами, песнями, музыкой, гирляндами и благоухающими веществами, отнесли его на север города, вошли в город через северные ворота, пронесли его через центр города и вынесли через восточные ворота к святилищу маллов под названием Макутабандхана. Там они возложили тело.

И тогда божества и кусинарийские маллы оказали внимание, оказали заботу, уважили, почтили тело Благостного божественными и человеческими танцами, пением, музыкой, венками, благовониями, отнесли [его] к северу, на север от города, вошли в город через северные ворота, понесли к середине, на середину города, вышли из восточных ворот и там, к востоку от города, у святилища маллов Макутабандхана опустили тело Благостного.
