Atha kho te licchavī yena ambapālivanaṃ tena pāyiṃsu.
|
But they continued on their way to Ambapali's grove.
|
Then the Licchavis set out for Ambapālī’s grove.
|
And they set out for Ambapall's grove.
|
И личчхави отправились в рощу Амбапали.
|
И эти личчхавы направились в рощу Амбапали.
|

|
Addasā kho bhagavā te licchavī dūratova āgacchante.
|
20. And the Blessed One beheld the Licchavis from afar, as they drove up.
|
The Blessed One saw them coming from afar
|
2.17.And the Lord, having seen the Licchavis from afar,
|
Уже издалека Благословенный увидел, что личчхави приближаются.
|
2.17. И видя издали, что приближаются эти личчхавы, Благостный обратился к монахам:
|

Disvāna bhikkhū āmantesi – "yesaṃ [yehi (vi. mahāvagga)], bhikkhave, bhikkhūnaṃ devā tāvatiṃsā adiṭṭhapubbā, oloketha, bhikkhave, licchaviparisaṃ; apaloketha, bhikkhave, licchaviparisaṃ; upasaṃharatha, bhikkhave, licchaviparisaṃ – tāvatiṃsasadisa"nti.
|
Then he spoke to the bhikkhus, saying: "Those of you, bhikkhus, who have not yet seen the Thirty-three gods, may behold the assembly of the Licchavis, and may gaze on them, for they are comparable to the assembly of the Thirty-three gods."
|
and, on seeing them, he said to the monks, “Those monks who have never before seen the Devas of the Thirty-three, look at the assembly of Licchavis! Gaze at the assembly of Licchavis! Regard the assembly of Licchavis as like the assembly of the Thirty-three!”
|
said: 'Monks, any of you who have not seen the Thirty-Three Gods, just look at this troop of Licchavis! Take a good look at them, [97] and you will get an idea of the Thirty-Three Gods!'

Увидев их Благословенный обратился к монахам: "Монахи, пусть те из вас, кто никогда не видел Тридцати Трёх божеств, осмотрит собрание этих личчхави, рассмотрит собрание этих личчхави, вглядится в собрание этих личчхави. Они подобны Тридцати Трём божествам".

«Монахи, если кто из монахов не видел тридцати трех богов, взгляните, монахи, на собрание личчхавов, взгляните, монахи, на собрание личчхавов, смотрите, монахи, на собрание личчхавов, как на собрание тридцати трех».

Atha kho te licchavī yāvatikā yānassa bhūmi, yānena gantvā, yānā paccorohitvā pattikāva yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṃsu; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ nisīdiṃsu.
|
21. Then the Licchavis drove their carriages as far as the carriages could go, then alighted; and approaching the Blessed One on foot, they respectfully greeted him and sat down at one side.
|
Then the Licchavis, going in their vehicles as far as there was ground for vehicles, got down from their vehicles and approached the Blessed One on foot. On arrival, having bowed down to him, they sat to one side.
|
2.18.Then the Licchavis drove in their carriages as far as the ground would allow, then they alighted and went on foot to where the Lord was, saluted him and sat down to one side.
|
Подъехав на колеснице так близко, насколько позволяла дорога, они вышли и пешком подошли к Благословенному. Подойдя к Благословенному они выразили своё почтение и сели в одной стороне от него.
|
2.18. И вот эти личчхавы, проехав на колесницах, сколько позволяла колесницам дорога, спустились с колесниц и пешком приблизились к Благостному; приблизившись, они приветствовали Благостного и сели в стороне.

Ekamantaṃ nisinne kho te licchavī bhagavā dhammiyā kathāya sandassesi samādapesi samuttejesi sampahaṃsesi.
|
The Blessed One instructed the Licchavis in the Dhamma, and roused, edified, and gladdened them.
|
As they were sitting there, the Blessed One instructed, urged, roused, & encouraged them with a talk on Dhamma.
|
And as they sat, the Lord instructed, inspired, fired and delighted them with a talk on Dhamma.
|
Сидящих в одной стороне личчхави Благословенный радовал, восхищал, побуждал и вдохновлял беседой о Дхамме.
|
И Благостный наставил, побудил, воодушевил, порадовал сидящих в стороне личчхавов добродетельной беседой.
|
|
|
Atha kho te licchavī bhagavatā dhammiyā kathāya sandassitā samādapitā samuttejitā sampahaṃsitā bhagavantaṃ etadavocuṃ – "adhivāsetu no, bhante, bhagavā svātanāya bhattaṃ saddhiṃ bhikkhusaṅghenā"ti.
|
22. Thereafter the Licchavis spoke to the Blessed One, saying: "May the Blessed One, O Lord, please accept our invitation for tomorrow's meal, together with the community of bhikkhus."
|
Then the Licchavis—instructed, urged, roused, and encouraged with the Blessed One’s talk on Dhamma—said to him, “Lord, may the Blessed One acquiesce to our meal tomorrow, together with the Saṅgha of monks. ”
|
And being thus delighted, they said: 'Lord, may the Lord consent to take a meal from us tomorrow with his order of monks!'
|
И тогда те личчхави обрадованные, восхищённые, побуждённые и вдохновлённые беседой о Дхамме так сказали Благословенному: "Пусть досточтимый Благословенный примет приглашение пожаловать к нам завтра на трапезу вместе с собранием монахов".
|
И вот наставленные, побужденные, воодушевленные, обрадованные добродетельной беседой с Благостным, эти личчхавы так сказали Благостному: «Господин, пусть Благостный вместе с толпой монахов согласится [принять] у нас завтра пищу».
|

Atha kho bhagavā te licchavī etadavoca – "adhivutthaṃ [adhivāsitaṃ (syā.)] kho me, licchavī, svātanāya ambapāliyā gaṇikāya bhatta"nti.
|
"The invitation for tomorrow's meal, Licchavis, has been accepted by me from Ambapali the courtesan."
|
“Licchavis, I have already acquiesced to Ambapālī the courtesan’s meal tomorrow. ”
|
'But, Licchavis, I have already accepted a meal for tomorrow from the courtesan Ambapali!'
|
Тогда Благословенный так сказал тем личчхави: "О личчхави, я принял приглашение на завтрашнюю трапезу от куртизанки Амбапали".
|
< > «Я уже согласился, личчхавы, [принять] завтра пищу у ганики Амбапали».
|
|
|
Atha kho te licchavī aṅguliṃ phoṭesuṃ – "jitamha vata bho ambakāya, jitamha vata bho ambakāyā"ti.
|
Then the Licchavis snapped their fingers in annoyance: "See, friends! We are defeated by this mango lass! We are utterly outdone by this mango lass!"
|
Then the Licchavis snapped their fingers: “How we’ve been defeated by Little Ambapālī! How we’ve been cheated by Little Ambapālī!”
|
And the Licchavis snapped their fingers, saying: 'We've been beaten by the mango-woman, we've been cheated by the mango-woman!'
|
Тогда личчхави, щёлкая пальцами [стали причитать]: "Увы, превзошла нас эта дама, увы, одолела нас эта дама!".
|
И вот эти личчхавы щелкнули пальцами [и воскликнули]: «Увы, нас победила эта Амбака! Увы, нас перехитрила эта Амбака!»

Atha kho te licchavī bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinanditvā anumoditvā uṭṭhāyāsanā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā padakkhiṇaṃ katvā pakkamiṃsu.
|
And then the Licchavis, approving of the Blessed One's words and delighted with them, rose from their seats, respectfully saluted him, and keeping their right sides towards him, took their departure.
|
Then the Licchavis, delighting in and approving of the Blessed One’s words, got up from their seats and, bowing down to him and circumambulating him, left.
|
Then, having rejoiced and delighted in his talk, they rose from their seats, saluted the Lord and, passing him by on the right, departed.
|
И личчхави, возрадовавшись и одобрив сказанное Благословенным встали со своих мест, выразили Благословенному почтение, уважительно обошли вокруг него и ушли.
|
И вот эти личчхавы, возрадовавшись словам Благостного и поблагодарив [его], поднялись с сиденья, приветствовали Благостного и, обойдя [его] с правой стороны, удалились.
