Apica upakārakaṭṭho paccayaṭṭho.

Furthermore, the meaning of “condition” is the meaning of “help."

Avijjā ca sā paccayo cāti avijjāpaccayo.

It is ignorance and that is a condition, thus it is “ignorance as condition,”

Tasmā avijjāpaccayā.

whence the phrase “with ignorance as condition.”
