376.Idha pana, bhikkhave, vassaṃvuṭṭhānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ anuppanne cīvare saṅgho bhijjati. “There is the case where monks have spent the Rains and the Saṅgha splits before robe-cloth arises.
Tattha manussā ekasmiṃ pakkhe udakaṃ denti, ekasmiṃ pakkhe cīvaraṃ denti – saṅghassa demāti. “People give water to one faction and robe-cloth to the other faction, (saying,) ‘We are giving to the Saṅgha.’
Saṅghassevetaṃ. “That is for the (entire) Saṅgha.
