So nagaraṃ paviṭṭhadivaseyeva paccūsakāle cintesi "ye vibhātāya rattiyā mama āgatabhāvaṃ sutvā yācakā āgamissanti, tesāhaṃ kiṃ dassāmī"ti?

and on the day that he entered the city, in the evening, he thought: "When day dawns, the suitors who have heard of my return will come, and what shall I give them?"

И в тот день, когда он вечером вошел в город, он подумал: "Утром, узнав что я вернулся, придут просители, что я им дам?"

Tasmiṃ khaṇe sakkassa bhavanaṃ uṇhākāraṃ dassesi.
|
At that moment Sakka's throne grew hot: he considered, and saw the reason.

So āvajjento taṃ kāraṇaṃ ñatvā tāvadeva rājanivesanassa purimavatthuñca pacchimavatthuñca kaṭippamāṇaṃ pūrento ghanamegho viya sattaratanavassaṃ vassāpesi, sakalanagare jāṇuppamāṇaṃ vassāpesi.

He brought down a rain of the seven kinds of jewels like a thundershower, filling the back and front of the palace with them waist-high, and over all the city knee-deep.

Сакка пролил дождь из семи видов драгоценных камней, подобный грозовому ливню, наполнив ими заднюю и переднюю части дворца высотой по пояс и весь город глубиной по колено.

Punadivase mahāsatto "tesaṃ tesaṃ kulānaṃ purimapacchimavatthūsu vuṭṭhadhanaṃ tesaṃ tesaññeva hotū"ti dāpetvā avasesaṃ āharāpetvā attano gehavatthusmiṃ saddhiṃ dhanena koṭṭhāgāresu okirāpetvā dānamukhe ṭhapesi.

Next day, he allotted this or that place to various families and let them pick up the jewels; the rest he made to be collected and placed in his own dwelling with his treasure; and in his treasuries he had enough to distribute always in future.

На следующий день Махасатта решил: «Среди всех семей по очереди, дарованные небесами сокровища пусть будут распределены!» Раздав часть, остаток он приказал занести в его дом. И этот остаток драгоценностей богатствами из своей сокровищницы сверху дополнив, установил размер [будущих] подношений. даров использовал.
