44. Tena kho pana samayena bhagavato paṃsukūlaṃ uppannaṃ hoti. Atha kho bhagavato etadahosi – "kattha nu kho ahaṃ paṃsukūlaṃ dhoveyya"nti? Atha kho sakko devānamindo bhagavato cetasā cetoparivitakkamaññāya pāṇinā pokkharaṇiṃ khaṇitvā bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – "idha, bhante, bhagavā paṃsukūlaṃ dhovatū"ti.
