Tena kho pana samayena uppalavaṇṇāya bhikkhuniyā antevāsinī bhikkhunī satta vassāni bhagavantaṃ anubandhā hoti vinayaṃ pariyāpuṇantī.

Now at that time the nun who was the pupil of the nun Uppalavaṇṇā had followed after the Lord for seven years mastering discipline,

Tassā muṭṭhassatiniyā gahito gahito mussati.
|
but because she was of confused mindfulness, what she had learnt she forgot.

Dukkaraṃ kho pana mātugāmena yāvajīvaṃ satthāraṃ anubandhituṃ.

Hard it is for a woman to follow after a teacher for as long as her life lasts.

Женщине трудно следовать за Учителем, в течении всей своей жизни.

|
Kathaṃ nu kho mayā paṭipajjitabba"nti?
|
What line of conduct should be followed by me?”
|
Что же мне теперь делать?»

Atha kho sā bhikkhunī bhikkhunīnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesi.
|
Then that nun told this matter to the nuns.
|
Тогда она рассказала об этом другим монахиням.
|
|
|
Bhikkhuniyo bhikkhūnaṃ etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ.
|
The nuns told this matter to the monks.
|
Те рассказали монахам,
|
|
|
Bhikkhū bhagavato etamatthaṃ ārocesuṃ.
|
The monks told this matter to the Lord.
|
а монахи рассказали это Благословенному
|
|
|
"Anujānāmi, bhikkhave, bhikkhūhi bhikkhunīnaṃ vinayaṃ vācetu"nti.
|
He said: “I allow, monks, discipline to be taught to nuns by monks. ”
|
и он молвил: «Я позволяю монахам обучать монахинь дисциплине.”
