"Puna caparaṃ, upavāṇa, bhikkhu manasā dhammaṃ viññāya dhammappaṭisaṃvedīhi kho hoti, no ca dhammarāgappaṭisaṃvedī.
|
... having cognized a mental phenomenon with the mind, a bhikkhu experiences the mental phenomenon without experiencing lust for the mental phenomenon.
|

Asantañca ajjhattaṃ dhammesu rāgaṃ 'natthi me ajjhattaṃ dhammesu rāgo'ti pajānāti.
|
He understands that lust for mental phenomena does not exist internally thus: 'There is in me no lust for mental phenomena internally.'
|
|
|
Yaṃ taṃ, upavāṇa, bhikkhu manasā dhammaṃ viññāya dhammappaṭisaṃvedīhi kho hoti, no ca dhammarāgappaṭisaṃvedī.
|
Since, Upavāṇa, having cognized that mental object with the mind, the monk experiences the mental object but does not experience lust for the mental object,

Asantañca ajjhattaṃ dhammesu rāgaṃ 'natthi me ajjhattaṃ dhammesu rāgo'ti pajānāti.
|
and he understands there is no lust for mental objects existing internally thus, ‘There does not exist for me internally lust for mental objects,’

Evampi kho, upavāṇa, sandiṭṭhiko dhammo hoti, akāliko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccattaṃ veditabbo viññūhī"ti.
|
in such a way, too, Upavana,the Dhamma is directly visible, immediate, inviting one to come and see, applicable, to be personally experienced by the wise." 35
