136.Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.

1. THUS HAVE I HEARD. On one occasion the Blessed One was living at Savatthl in Jeta's Grove, Anathapindika's Park.

|
Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – "bhikkhavo"ti.
|
There he addressed the bhikkhus thus: "Bhikkhus."
|
|
|
"Bhadante"ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ.
|
- "Venerable sir," they replied.
|
|
|
Bhagavā etadavoca – "ariyaṃ vo, bhikkhave, sammāsamādhiṃ desessāmi saupanisaṃ saparikkhāraṃ.
|
The Blessed One said this: 2. "Bhikkhus, I shall teach you noble right concentration with its supports and its requisites.1099
|
|
|
Taṃ suṇātha, sādhukaṃ manasi karotha; bhāsissāmī"ti.
|
Listen and attend closely to what I shall say."
|
|
|
"Evaṃ, bhante"ti kho te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ.
|
- "Yes, venerable sir," the bhikkhus replied.
