"Yāvakīvañca, bhikkhave, bhikkhū apaññattaṃ na paññapessanti, paññattaṃ na samucchindissanti, yathāpaññattesu sikkhāpadesu samādāya vattissanti, vuddhiyeva, bhikkhave, bhikkhūnaṃ pāṭikaṅkhā, no parihāni.

so long as they appoint no new rules, and do not abolish the existing ones, but proceed in accordance with the code of training (Vinaya) laid down;

“As long as the monks neither decree what has been undecreed nor repeal what has been decreed, but conduct themselves, having undertaken the training rules as they have been decreed, their growth can be expected, not their decline.

Пока монахи не устанавливают ничего не установленного, не отменяют ничего из установленного и следуют установленным нравственным факторам обучения, до тех пор можно ожидать их процветания, а не упадка.

До тех пор, монахи, пока монахи не будут устанавливать [у себя] неустановленного, отменять установленное, будут жить в соответствии с установленными заповедями, следует ожидать, монахи, возвышения, а не упадка монахов.
