132.Atha kho rājā māgadho ajātasattu vedehiputto vassakāraṃ brāhmaṇaṃ magadhamahāmattaṃ āmantesi – "ehi tvaṃ, brāhmaṇa, yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkama; upasaṅkamitvā mama vacanena bhagavato pāde sirasā vandāhi, appābādhaṃ appātaṅkaṃ lahuṭṭhānaṃ balaṃ phāsuvihāraṃ puccha – 'rājā, bhante, māgadho ajātasattu vedehiputto bhagavato pāde sirasā vandati, appābādhaṃ appātaṅkaṃ lahuṭṭhānaṃ balaṃ phāsuvihāraṃ pucchatī'ti.

2. And Ajatasattu, the king of Magadha, addressed his chief minister, the brahman Vassakara, saying: "Come, brahman, go to the Blessed One, pay homage in my name at his feet, wish him good health, strength, ease, vigour, and comfort,
|
Then he addressed Vassakāra the brahman, the chief minister of Magadha: “Come, brahman. Go to the Blessed One and, on arrival, show reverence with your head to his feet in my name and ask whether he is free from illness & affliction, is carefree, strong, & living in comfort, (saying,) ‘Ajātasattu Vedehiputta, the king of Magadha, lord, shows reverence with his head to the Blessed One’s feet and asks whether you are free from illness & affliction, are carefree, strong, & living in comfort.

1.2. And King Ajatasattu said to his chief minister the Brahmin Vassakara: 'Brahmin, go to the Blessed Lord, worship him with your head to his feet in my name, ask if he is free from sickness or disease, if he is living at ease, vigorously and comfortably,

И правитель Магадхи Аджатасатту Видехипутта обратился к своему главному министру, брахману Вассакаре: "Ступай, о брахман, пойди к Благословенному, склонись в почтении к ногам его, спроси его от моего имени, нет ли у него недугов и болезней, есть ли силы, легко и комфортно ли ему живётся: "О досточтимый, правитель Магадхи Аджатасатту кланяется в ноги Благословенному, спрашивает нет ли у него недугов и болезней, есть ли силы, легко и комфортно ли ему живётся?"

1.2. И вот царь Магадхи Аджатасатту Ведехипутта обратился к главному советнику Магадхи брахману Вассакаре:
«Иди, брахман, приблизься к Благостному, приблизившись, поклонись головой в ноги Благостному от моего имени и спроси, прошла ли [его] болезнь, прошел ли недуг, хорошо ли здоровье, как силы, благополучно ли самочувствие: „Господин, царь Магадхи Аджатасатту Ведехипутта кланяется головой в ноги Благостному и спрашивает, прошла ли [его] болезнь, прошел ли недуг, хорошо ли здоровье, как силы, благополучно ли самочувствие“, —

Evañca vadehi – 'rājā, bhante, māgadho ajātasattu vedehiputto vajjī abhiyātukāmo.
|
and speak thus: 'O Lord, Ajatasattu, the king of Magadha, desires to wage war against the Vajjis.
|
’ And then say: ‘Lord, Ajātasattu Vedehiputta, the king of Magadha, wants to attack the Vajjians.
|
and then say: "Lord, King Ajatasattu Vedehiputta of Magadha wishes to attack the Vajjians
|
И скажи ты ему тогда: "Правитель Магадхи Аджатасатту Видехипутта захотел напасть на ваджджиян.
|
и еще скажи так: „Господин, царь Магадхи Аджатасатту Ведехипутта пожелал напасть на ваджджийцев.
|

So evamāha – "ahaṃ hime vajjī evaṃmahiddhike evaṃmahānubhāve ucchecchāmi vajjī, vināsessāmi vajjī, anayabyasanaṃ āpādessāmī"'ti.
|
He has spoken in this fashion: "These Vajjis, powerful and glorious as they are, I shall annihilate them, I shall make them perish, I shall utterly destroy them."'
|
He says: “I will cut down these Vajjians—so mighty, so powerful! I will destroy the Vajjians! I will bring these Vajjians to ruin—these Vajjians!”’
|
and says: 'I will strike the Vajjians...,bring them to ruin and [73] destruction!'"
|
И он говорит: "Я искореню ваджджиян, столь сильных и могучих, я уничтожу ваджджиян, я принесу ваджджиянам крах и разрушение".
|
И он сказал так: ‘Я нанесу удар этим ваджджийцам, [хоть они] столь великой силы, столь великого могущества, истреблю ваджджийцев, погублю ваджджийцев, причиню ваджджийцам тяжкие бедствия’“».

Yathā te bhagavā byākaroti, taṃ sādhukaṃ uggahetvā mama āroceyyāsi.
|
And whatever the Blessed One should answer you, keep it well in mind and inform me;
|
However the Blessed One answers, having grasped it well, report to me.
|
And whatever the Lord declares to you, report that faithfully back to me,
|
И хорошо запомнив все, что скажет Благословенный, перескажи мне потом.
|
|
|
|
Na hi tathāgatā vitathaṃ bhaṇantī"ti.
|
for Tathagatas [3] do not speak falsely."
|
For Tathāgatas do not speak untruthfully.”1
|
for Tathagatas never lie.'
|
Ибо Татхагаты никогда не говорят неправды".
