"Vedanānaṃ samudaya"ntiādipāḷi vedanākammaṭṭhānanti daṭṭhabbā.

Tanti "phassasamudayā phassanirodhā"ti vuttaphassaṭṭhānaṃ.

Āhāroti kabaḷīkāro āhāro veditabbo.

“Nutriment'' is edible nutriment.
|
|
So hi "kabaḷīkāro āhāro imassa kāyassa āhārapaccayena paccayo"ti (paṭṭhā. 1.paccayaniddesa 429) vacanato kammasamuṭṭhānānampi upatthambhakapaccayo hotiyeva.
|
Since edible nutriment is a condition, its nutriment condition, for this body, it follows that edible nutriment is a condition fortifying [the physical sense bases such as the eye] that originate through kamma.

Yadipi sotāpannādayo yathābhūtaṃ pajānanti, ukkaṃsagativijānanavasena pana desanā arahattanikūṭena niṭṭhāpitā.
|
Although the stream-enterer etc., understand these as they really are, the teaching is concluded with its culmination in arahatship in order to show the supremacy of the arahat’s understanding.

Ettha ca "yato kho bhikkhave bhikkhu - pe - yathābhūtaṃ pajānātī"ti etena dhammassa niyyānikabhāvena saddhiṃ saṅghassa suppaṭipattiṃ dasseti.
|
And by the above passage of the sutta, the Exalted One shows the liberating character of the Dhamma together with the Saṅgha’s practice of the good path.

Teneva hi aṭṭhakathāyamettha "ko evaṃ jānātīti?
|
For when the commentary, after asking: "Who understands?,”
|
|
Khīṇāsavo jānāti, yāva āraddhavipassako jānātī"ti paripuṇṇaṃ katvā bhikkhusaṅgho dassito, tena yaṃ vuttaṃ "bhikkhusaṅghavasenapi dīpetuṃ vaṭṭatī"ti, (dī. ni. aṭṭha. 1.8) taṃ yathārutavaseneva dīpitaṃ hotīti daṭṭhabbaṃ.
