(b) According to continuity: that [materiality] which has like or single origination72 by temperature and single origination by nutriment, though it occurs successively, [473] is present. That which, previous to that, was of unlike origination by temperature and nutriment is past. That which is subsequent is future. |
Cold temperature is like with cold, and hot with hot.
But that temperature which falls on the body, whether hot or cold, and occurs as a continuity in one mode, being neither less nor more, is called ‘single temperature.’ The word ‘single’ is used because of the plurality of ‘like’ temperature. So too with nutriment.
‘In one cognitive series, in one impulsion’ refers respectively to five-door and mind-door consciousness.
