| 83.Tena kho pana samayena bhikkhū ācariyupajjhāyesu pakkantesupi vibbhantesupi kālaṅkatesupi pakkhasaṅkantesupi nissayapaṭippassaddhiyo na jānanti. | Now at that time, monks—when their teachers had gone away, renounced the training, died, or gone over to (another) faction1—did not know if their dependence had lapsed. |
