129.Evaṃ me sutaṃ – ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.

1. THUS HAVE I HEARD. On one occasion the Blessed One was living at Savatthl in Jeta's Grove, Anathapindika's Park.

Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi – "bhikkhavo"ti.
|
There he addressed the bhikkhus thus: "Bhikkhus."
|
|
|
"Bhadante"ti te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ.
|
- "Venerable sir," they replied.
|
|
|
Bhagavā etadavoca – "dhāretha no tumhe, bhikkhave, mayā desitāni pañcorambhāgiyāni saṃyojanānī"ti?
|
The Blessed One said this: 2. "Bhikkhus, do you remember the five lower fetters as taught by me? "
