"Tassa pavatte bhayadassāvissa evaṃ cittaṃ uppajjati 'santattaṃ kho panetaṃ pavattaṃ sampajjalitaṃ bahudukkhaṃ bahūpāyāsaṃ, yadi koci labhetha appavattaṃ etaṃ santaṃ etaṃ paṇītaṃ, yadidaṃ sabbasaṅkhārasamatho sabbūpadhipaṭinissaggo taṇhakkhayo virāgo nirodho nibbāna'nti.

“When he sees the danger in the occurrence of formations he thinks thus: “This occurrence of formations is aglow, on fire, ablaze, of much suffering, of much despair. If only one could obtain the non-occurrence of formations—that is peace, that the excellent, that is to say, the tranquillizing of all formations, the casting out of all clinging, the destruction of craving, dispassion, cessation, Nibbāna.’

‘And in the mind of him who thus perceives The insecurity of transitory life, (of starting afresh ha innumerable births) the thought arises: “All on fire is this endless becoming, burning, and blazing! Full of pain is it, of despair! If only one could reach a state in which there were no becoming, there would there be calm, that would be sweet-the cessation of all these conditions, the getting rid of all these defects (of lusts, of evil, and of Karma), the end of cravings, the absence of passion, peace, Nirvāṇa!

И у него, увидевшего всю опасность кружения, появляется мысль: «От этого кружения лишь зной и палящее пекло, много в нем скорби и много тягости. О, если бы нашлось некружение! Это покойно и возвышенно, это – успокоение всех слагаемых, снятие всех наслоений, прекращение жажды, бесстрастие, пресечение, нирвана».

Iti hetaṃ [hitaṃ (sī.), hi idaṃ (pī.)] tassa appavatte cittaṃ pakkhandati pasīdati pahaṃsayati tusayati [pahaṃsīyati kuhīyati (sī. pī.)] 'paṭiladdhaṃ kho me nissaraṇa'nti.

So his mind leaps forward to the non-occurrence of formations, finds satisfaction, is exultant and joyous at the thought: “I have obtained the escape.’

” And therewith does his mind leap forward into that state in which there is no becoming, and then has he found peace, Then does he exult and rejoice at the thought: “A refuge have I gained at last!

И вот мысль его к некружению устремляется, влечется, радуется и ликует: «Найдено, кажется, избавление!»
