210.Evaṃ vutte āyasmā ānando bhagavantaṃ etadavoca – "mā, bhante, bhagavā imasmiṃ khuddakanagarake ujjaṅgalanagarake sākhānagarake parinibbāyi.

41. When this had been said, the Venerable Ananda spoke to the Blessed One, saying: "Let it not be, Lord, that the Blessed One should pass away in this mean place, this uncivilized township in the midst of the jungle, a mere outpost of the province.
|
When this was said, Ven. Ānanda said to the Blessed One, “Lord, may the Blessed One not totally unbind in this little town, this dusty town, this branch township.
|
5.17.After this the Venerable Ananda said: 'Lord, may the Blessed Lord not pass away in this miserable little town of wattle-and-daub, right in the jungle in the back of beyond!

Santi, bhante, aññāni mahānagarāni, seyyathidaṃ – campā rājagahaṃ sāvatthī sāketaṃ kosambī bārāṇasī; ettha bhagavā parinibbāyatu.
|
There are great cities, Lord, such as Campa, Rajagaha, Savatthi, Saketa, Kosambi, and Benares — let the Blessed One have his final passing away in one of those.
|
There are other great cities: Campā, Rājagaha, Sāvatthī, Sāketa, Kosambī, Bārāṇasī. May the Blessed One totally unbind there.

Lord, there are other great cities such as Campa, Rajagaha, Savatthi, Saketa, Kosambi or Varanasi.

Есть же, досточтимый, большие города, такие как Чампа, Раджагаха, Саваттхи, Сакета, Косамби и Баранаси – пусть Благословенный достигнет окончательной ниббаны там.

Есть ведь, господин, другие большие города, а именно: Чампа, Раджагаха, Саваттхи, Сакета, Косамби, Баранаси. Пусть Благостный [где-нибудь] там и достигнет ниббаны —

Ettha bahū khattiyamahāsālā, brāhmaṇamahāsālā gahapatimahāsālā tathāgate abhippasannā.
|
For in those cities dwell many wealthy nobles and brahmans and householders who are devotees of the Tathagata,
|
In those cities there are many wealthy noble warriors, brahmans, & householders who have high confidence in the Tathāgata.
|
In those places there are wealthy Khattiyas, Brahmins and householders who are devoted to the Tathagata,
|
Там живёт много знатных и богатых кшатриев, знатных и богатых брахманов, знатных и богатых домохозяев, которые в высшей степени привержены Благословенному.

там много богатых кшатриев, богатых брахманов, богатых домоправителей, преданных Татхагате,
|

Te tathāgatassa sarīrapūjaṃ karissantī"ti "māhevaṃ, ānanda, avaca; māhevaṃ, ānanda, avaca – 'khuddakanagarakaṃ ujjaṅgalanagarakaṃ sākhānagaraka'nti.

and they will render due honor to the remains of the Tathagata." 42. "Do not say that, Ananda! Do not say: 'This mean place, this uncivilized township in the midst of the jungle, a mere outpost of the province.'
|
They will conduct the Tathāgata’s funeral. ” “Don’t say that, Ānanda. Don’t say that: ‘this little town, this dusty town, this branch township.
|
and they will provide for the Tathagata's funeral in proper style.' 'Ananda, don't call it a miserable little town of wattle-and- daub, right in the jungle in the back of beyond!

Они окажут должное почтение телу Татхагаты". "Не говори так, Ананда! Не говори: "Маленький городишко, город посреди джунглей, город [крохотный] как ветка."

и они окажут почет останкам Татхагаты». «Не говори, Ананда, так, не говори, Ананда, так: „ничтожный городок, заброшенный городок, маленький городок“.
