"Ayaṃ kho so, ānanda, dhammādāso dhammapariyāyo, yena samannāgato ariyasāvako ākaṅkhamāno attanāva attānaṃ byākareyya – 'khīṇanirayomhi khīṇatiracchānayoni khīṇapettivisayo khīṇāpāyaduggativinipāto, sotāpannohamasmi avinipātadhammo niyato sambodhiparāyaṇo"'ti.

"This, Ananda, is the teaching called the Mirror of the Dhamma, whereby the noble disciple may thus know of himself: 'There is no more rebirth for me in hell, nor as an animal or ghost, nor in any realm of woe. A stream-enterer am I, safe from falling into the states of misery, assured am I and bound for Enlightenment.'"

“This, Ānanda, is the Dhamma-mirror Dhamma-discourse, endowed with which a disciple of the noble ones, if he/she so desires, may predict for him or herself: ‘Hell is ended for me; animal wombs are ended; the state of the hungry ghosts is ended; planes of deprivation, the bad destinations, the lower realms are ended! I am a stream-winner, never again destined for the lower realms, certain, headed for self-awakening!’”18

"This, Ananda, is the Mirror of Dhamma, whereby the Aryan disciple... can discern of himself: "I have destroyed hell,... I am a Stream-Winner,... certain of attaining Nibbana."

Таково, Ананда, объяснение Дхаммы, именуемое Зеркалом Дхаммы, обладая которым последователь благородных при желании сможет объявить в отношении себя: "Нет для меня больше рождения в аду, в утробе животного или голодного духа, положен конец низким мирам, дурным уделам, падению. Я вошедший в поток, не способный к падению в миры страданий, моя судьба предрешена, обеспечено мне постижение".

Таково, Ананда, это наставление в истине — „зеркало истины“, наделенный которым праведный ученик мог бы при желании объяснить себе о себе самом: „Для меня уничтожена преисподняя, уничтожено рождение в образе животного, уничтожено [рождение] в мире душ предков, уничтожены бедствия, несчастья, страдания — я стал вступившим в поток, не подверженным страданию, уверенным, движущимся к просветлению“».
